What Items Are Prohibited For Placement In A Roll Off Dumpster?
Landfill regulations prohibit the following items or materials being disposed at their facilities or require special handling for them:
• Whole Tires - except solid forklift tires
• Lead Acid Batteries
• White Goods/Appliances
• Yard Waste - unless disposed of in a separate load - cannot be mixed in with construction waste
• Liquids of Any Kind
• Hazardous Waste - as described in 40 CFR 258
• Asbestos IN Any Form - unless handled and packaged separately according to NESHAP regulations with required North Carolina documentation and Green Day manifests. Shingles, Insulation, Siding & Old Sheet Flooring can contain asbestos.
• Contaminated Soil
• Explosives
• Any Container of 5 gallon Capacity or Greater - unless both ends are removed
• Volatile Chemicals
• Any Material with the Propensity to Produce a Foul Odor
• Fluorescent Fixtures - unless ballasts have been removed
• Fluorescent Bulbs/Tubes
• Any other material deemed unlawful as described in the North Carolina solid Waste Management Rules as amended.
Where Does Green Day Take The Waste Picked Up?
Items that are recyclable are brought to our central collection facility and those that are not are properly disposed of at a state registered landfill facility or transfer station.
Are There Extra Costs For Certain Items?
Yes. Certain items have landfill surcharges and we must charge extra for these items. These include air conditioners, appliances, auto/truck tires, mattress & box spring, television/computer monitor and water heaters.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
When do I pay for my dumpster?
The hauling fee will be charged at the time of delivery. A second charge occurs only if the pick up date exceeds the time limit allowed, or the weight of the material in the container exceeds the allowed weight limit, or if surcharge items are loaded in the container.
How high can I load my dumpster?
Please only load to the top of the wall edge of your dumpster. If over-loading occurs additional charges will be assessed. If unsafe, the container will be unloaded to a safe level.
